Distracted Driving Law

Distracted Driving Law

On Thursday September 01, 2011 it became illegal for regular motorists in Alberta to use a cell phone directly while driving (must use bluetooth device).  This law also means that you cannot do your hair, read, do crosswords, play electronic games or do a thousand other things people do in their vehicles while driving.

If you are caught, you will be charged the fine of $172.00.

How do you feel about this new law and the fine? Do you agree or disagree? Why? In a well written paragraph or two, explain your position.

Violence in Video Games

Not all games are equal, however, there’s plenty of evidence that playing some violent video games can cause aggressive real-world behavior. Studies say that over 85 percent of video games include violence.

When these statistics are combined with the results of studies showing that aggressive attitudes and even actions can be increased after playing violent games for as little as 20 minutes, it’s possible that we have a major problem on our hands.

What are your thoughts? Do you believe that violence in video games has desensitized us to violence in real life?
